same philosophy as me, generally when the warranty expires I do everything to take care of the repair/maintenance myself. For this reason I either buy simple machines knowing that the parts are not too "proprietary" and easy to find or famous brands (mimaki, epson, roland..) that allow easy availability of spare parts.
