CTcP is using 405nm 400mW(?, not sure) LED. Exposure thru a DMD (from TI). Normal resolution at 1500 dpi. There is 2400 dpi option, the trade of is output speed. A 1500 dpi CTcP is 19 plates/hours, and you decided to have the 2400 dpi output, using the same plate the output speed would become 12 plates/hour.
The output speed of CTcP also depends on the sensitivity of the PS plate. Need to use the high sensitivity PS plate to get the output speed. If using normal sensitiviy plate then the trade off also in speed. How much would be the speed reduced? This all depends on the plate coating sensitivity.
CTcP also using square dot, because the UV pass thru the DMD and the shape of the DMD is in square.
The advantage of the new generation CTcP is the light source power is not more 800W, it is just 400mW (?, not sure) and the light source is an digital vs the old type UV lamp (analog). The output would be more stable and the life of the light source a much longer. The old type UV lamp need to be replaced in every 2000 hours.
