The concept is like a step and repeat plate maker. Plate is state on the platform and will not move during exposure. The moving part is only the light source, laser head - CTcP used the laser to replace the analogue UV Lamp since 2008. The laser head consist of a set of 405nm UV diode, UV light compose together and thru a DSI3 as modulator to ensure the UV light is steady and even during exposure. The UV light directed by a DMD ( with around 800,000 micro- mirror) to the plate. Output speed of 850 series is 15p/hr, 19p/hr. 23p/hr and 25p/hr at 1500 dpi. CTcP only guarantee the screen line upto 235lpi at 1500 dpi, anything higher than this is the user's own risk. 2400 dpi option is available. Laser spot is square, which is the same of the Kodak. Luscher - Interesting design. Which is a hybrid drum technology. The plate is setting on the internal drum and the laser are mount on the external drum. You can call in internal-external drum technology. Only Luscher is using this in CTP. The laser diode use in Luscher is also 405nm UV laser. Two config. is available - 32 laser or 128 laser diode. This makes the speed different. Luscher never publish the outpur speed of her CTP. By estimation, if use right sensitive PS plate, the 128 laser can be upto around 35p/hr (JUST GUESS), never done the actual count. If does mean that the 32 laser config. will drop to 9p/hr. Because there is time require for loading and unloading the plate in between exposure. Output resolution is 2400 dpi. Laser spot is round, same as the other CTP. Both CTP output speed would be affected by the sensitivity of the PS plate. Personal opinion, knowing a printer has a very early Luscher UV-Expose. Very stable machine, very little break down and less maintenance, output around 500 plates in 24 hour. |
