If you have any questions, comments or bugs, please contact Onyx Technical Support at 800 295-8324, 801 984-5353, and/or support@onyxgfx.com. ----------------------------------------- Important information in this text file: - Suggested Minimum Requirements - Security Key issues - Installation issues - Known Issues - Other License Agreements For the latest fixes and information regarding the product, visit the Onyx Graphics website at www.onyxgfx.com. === # == # === Suggested Minimum Requirements -------------------------------- Onyx Workflow 6.0 Operating System: - Windows 2000?Server w/SP3, Windows 2000-Pro?w/Latest Service Pack, Windows XP Pro?w/Latest Service Pack - CPU: Intel Pentium III / Athalon , 1.5 Ghz or Higher, (Dual CPU System Required for Production House) - Storage: 40 Gb Hard Drive, 1Gb RAM per CPU - Video Display: 1280x768 16-bit Color - One USB Port Required for Security Key - DVD-ROM Drive Suggested, 40x CD-ROM Minimum Required === # == # === Security Key Issues --------------------- - USB Security Keys do not work with Windows NT Workstation or Windows NT Server. - Parallel security keys do not work with Windows XP-Pro(R) and Windows XP-Home(R). Please contact your sales representative to upgrade your parallel key to a USB key 800-828-0723. === # == # === Installation: --------------- - If you have a previous installation on your system, 6.0 will override the previous version. - Please back up your printer information by creating a prninst of each printer. === # == # === Known issues ------------------------ - When using the Mutoh Ultima and left Justify, you must also use a 1-inch offset. - When processing files using the overprint option, it is necessary to have an input profile selected. - Onyx Workflow has two basic modes in which PDF files can be ripped. The default installation is set to use the fastest mode. If the user is having troubles with some of the more esoteric pdf files in rip Configuration check the "Transparency - ON". - When editing the profile dialogue in Preflight for an image that was previously printed the associated profiles will be lost once you select ok. If you wish to keep the associated profiles, do not select ok. - The Mutoh Ultima cutter uses a virtual or simulated COM port for USB communication. When installing the Mutoh Ultima cutter: You must first install the USB driver from the Mutoh CD then go to device manager and use the com port listed next to the Mutoh Ultima. Media Manager ------------- - RIP-Queue must be running for Media Manager to build, delete, or rename a media. - If a linearization is copied in Media Manager the Media Model is not copied. Localization ------------ - Web Portal (HTTP Access) language display is controlled by the Web browser language on the client system. - Supported Web browsers are Explorer and Netscape. RIP-Queue ---------- - In RIP-Queue the Printer Status is listed as Nesting, even though Print Jobs Individually was selected as the printer's Placement strategy. - When using Step and Repeater, if an image's output width/height is set larger than the target printer can handle, RIP-Queue will shrink the image to fit the printer's page size. - Canceling the ripping of an image while a printer is initializing causes RIP- Queue to hang. - When modifying postscript files in Preflight, the preview image may not be updated in RIP-Queue. You can right-click on the image and click Refresh and the new image preview should be displayed. - Once a job has started to preview in Rip-Queue, it is not possible to cancel the previewing process. Tiff Files ---------- - TIFF-IT Files containing vector data are not supported. These will open, but the vector data will not be printed correctly. You must save these files in a different format. PPD's ------- - If you are using Microsoft Windows Me(R) or Microsoft Windows 98(R) to connect to a remote PC that is either Microsoft Windows NT(R) or Microsoft Windows 2000(R), the PPD's used in this process are updated when the remote printer is updated. === # == # === Operating System Notes: ----------------------- To use the product effectively, we assume that you are familiar with the Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Operating System platforms.
